Charter court clears poll hurdle | Bangkok Post: news

The court ruled unanimously that the organic bill passed by the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) did not contravene the 2017 constitution. "In the context of the constitution and the organic laws, there is very little possibility of postponing the poll. However, the charter court ruled yesterday the bill was in compliance with the constitution and the provisional clauses would be adopted for a limited period. Up next for the court is an organic bill on the election of MPs and the court is being asked to rule on two clauses. Pheu Thai member Samart Kaewmeechai said the ruling is seen as positive for when the court decides on the constitutionality of the organic bill on the election of MPs next week.
